Irish Government MUST condemn antisemitism and adopt IHRA definition

On Thursday, 7 October, David Collier’s report on shocking levels of antisemitism in Ireland, evidenced within our political and academic spaces, on our streets and elsewhere, was published.

It is still hoped that the report will be treated with the gravity it merits, and that its findings and recommendations find a receptive ear in the Irish parliament.

To-date, no mainstream Irish news media outlet has publicised the report or commented on it substantially. Neither has any political party or individual politician made a statement.

Please Take Action

Call and/or email your own local TDs, asking them to condemn the antisemitism in the report and to commit to having the International Holocaust Remembrance Association (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism adopted by the Dáil and the Seanad. Ireland is a signatory member of the IHRA but has yet to formally adopt the definition.

You can find your local TDs via Who Is My TD? page of the Oireachtas website. You simply need to type in your address the names of your TDs will be shown.

Please also email Micheál Martin, Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney. Their email addresses are as follows:

micheal.martin@oireachtas.ie
leo.varadkar@oireachtas.ie
simon.coveney@oireachtas.ie
